What we do Matters. Part 1

What we do matters.  This is a simple statement and for the most part we keep this at the forefront of our practices, hopefully.  However, sometimes this principle can get lost in the grind of the job.  Call after call, alarm after alarm sometimes brings difficulty, exhaustion, and frustration.  Though this is the case, it is important to remember that our patients in front of us expect our best.  They deserve our best.  They deserve our full attention.  They deserve our complete commitment to their emergency or situation.

How easy it is to brush off the seemingly routine call.  How easy it is to pass up your methodical approach in lieu of an easier way.  Refuse to do this.  Remain ever committed to the patient in front of you.  Don’t skip steps and quickly dismiss your patient because of your frustration or exhaustion.  Your patient deserves your best, give it to them, because what we do matters.  Stay tuned for part 2.
