Preparation
Preparation is the key to success. No business or entity or person that has any reasonable amount of success just merely falls into it. Preparation is always a part of that success. Every professional athlete prepares for decades before being drafted. Every Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, and Marine prepares prior to deployment. Should firefighters and paramedics be any different? Preparation can be subtle or dramatic, both have their value. Are you prepared for a cardiac arrest? Have you recently gone over your ACLS, is your monitor ready and equipment checked? Are you ready to cric someone today? Where is your kit, do you know how it works? What have you recently identified in yourself that you need to address so you can become better prepared? This can be really simple, it does not need to be overly dramatic. Take some time to read up on some cardiology and pharmacology today. Not tomorrow but today. Prepare, prepare, prepare. “Chance favors the prepared mind” Louis Pasteur. Make a difference today and go out the door with intent.
